Actually Africa commits 1% of the cost of each safari to support conservation education and community empowerment.
My commitment
Since 2024 we have supported Lessons in Conservation, which takes conservation education into Africa's classrooms. The next commitment is guide training, funding course places for Batswana who have the aptitude but not the means.
Both come down to the same idea: the people who live alongside Africa's special places should be the ones who benefit from them, and the ones who look after them next.
It's built into the price of every safari. There's nothing to opt into, and nothing added to your invoice.
A non-profit that takes conservation education into classrooms, teaching children about the wildlife and wild places on their doorstep. Most grow up near some of the richest wilderness on earth without ever having seen it. The programme changes that.

Guiding is one of the best careers the safari industry offers, and the cost of the courses puts it out of reach for many Batswana who have the passion and the aptitude for it. We fund the course fees for candidates chosen on exactly that basis. African Guide Academy runs the training; we pay for it. We're identifying our first candidate now.
